HAPPENING NOW | ICCEM joins World Cleanup Day

ICCEM workforce takes part in the movement for a cleaner planet today, September 30, 2022.

Faculty and staff join forces in clearing up the ICCEM Conservation Park, BINHI Conservation Park, and other facilities in the office in celebration of the World Cleanup Day.

Each year the World Cleanup Day unifies millions of people from different walks of life. Volunteers, organizations, and governments from across 191 countries in the world work hand in hand through cleanup drives, in order to address waste problem, to achieve a sustainable world. With this endeavor, ICCEM invites everyone to join with the movement every year so that each of us can contribute to a cleaner planet. Let us make a move today, pick up a trash on your way!

JUST IN | Future partnerships and collaborations between ICCEM-CLSU and UST secured.

Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, with the project team composed of Mr. Eddieson P. Canoza, and ICCEM's museum curators, Ms. Mary Angella Tolentino and Mr. Carl Dionelle Ponce, headed to University of Santo Tomas for an official visit earlier today, September 14, 2022. Warmly welcomed by Ms. Maita B. Oebanda, Collection Management and Documentation Assistant of UST museum, the scheduled meeting was successfully initiated today. Further discussions were tackled in the meeting including the selection of possible donations of the specimen for the renovated ICCEM museum. Ms. Oebanda also showcased rare specimens dated from the 19th century from the first building/campus of UST in Intramuros. ICCEM is in talks with Arch't. John Carlo L. Sayco, UST Museum Assistant Director, and Rev. Fr. Isidro C. Abaño, UST Museum Director, for the approval of the donation of objects and/or specimen from the museum, and for the future partnerships and collaborations. The UST Museum also encouraged the CLSU to join the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to learn more about the policies and management of museum, and trainings; and gain more networks and linkages that will benefit CLSU. Meanwhile, Dr. Abella also shared in the meeting the existence and renovation status of ICCEM museum, and the tentative date for the launching of the new ICCEM museum, which will be on December 2022.



WATCH | Coastal barangays of Malolos City, Bulacan reached by Project SAFE.

Coastal Barangays Babatnin and Namayan, Malolos City, Bulacan were visited by Project SAFE team for environmental edification, September 7-8, 2022. With the assistance of Mr. Amiel Cruz, CENRO-Malolos City, the activities were successfully coordinated ahead of the visitation. Barangay officials of Babatnin also provided support by transporting and guiding the team to the islands. The barangay officials (16) from the two coastal barangays eagerly contributed in the conversation as the speakers, Mr. Carl Dionelle Ponce and Ms. Kimberly Joy Mata, exhibited photos of different species of flora and fauna, and outputs of LiDAR technology.
